BOOT LID, Depressed For Spare Tire - AT-213A

Boot lid, recessed for spare tire This is a corollary to the prior page with a spare tire well recessed into the boot lid rather then the boot lid raised to clear a second spare tire. I presume this allows carrying a second spare tire for long distance road rally, or otherwise clears up space in the boot for more luggage. Looks like a winged "MG" knock-off nut that can be worked by hand, no need for a hammer or any special wrench.

Here is another one with the spare tire recessed into the boot lid.

Depending on depth of recess, it may allow for carrying two spare tires. If the recess is deep, the original spare might have to be removed, in which case it likely does not improve luggage space. Nice expression of personal style preference. Wonder about water drain and the heft of the load when releasing the boot latch and lifting the lid.
