Notice in illustration of the control unit (push pump) at left, there are two additional pieces between the item 44 hex nuts and item 45 washer. These are two concentric cup shells. The smaller one goes through the facia panel from the front, while the larger one nests over it on rear side of the panel. This positions the pump farther back behind the panel so the push shaft and knob do not protrude so far in front. When pushed, the knob shank can be depressed well into the cup area with only the head of the knob still in front of the panel. This illustration appears in SPL Version 3 for the TwinCam, with no part numbers for the shells alone. The change-over point seems to coincide with change from the small cap bottle tothe large cap bottle. Since there were multiple part numbers and variations for the screenwasher kit, and it was an aftermarket accessory, this double cup mouinting configuration may appear in earlier or later production cars.
